When you listen to Jens Bond it's not hard to tell that he was a drumer in his youth: As a core member of Berlin's Highgrade Records roster, he is
renowned not only for his European-wide DJ performances at places such as the legendary London club "The Egg", or as a resident at Berlin's
"Watergate" – but also for his unique sense of rhythm and timing. Also as a producer, Jens creates groovy and crisp percussive tracks with
beats that are accurate and straight to the point. He can also tap his foot in a team: evidenced by his releases in collaboration with Benno Blome or
Guido Schneider: tracks which have become the slow burners of the electronic club scene.
Despite the tension that Bond's beats trigger, his tracks are also permeated by a certain coolness... Shaken, not stirred! His latest
EP on Highgrade, "Good Woman" is no different. The title track "Good Woman", along with "Grumble in the Jungle" and
"Tube" all feature dense musical soundscapes that mix with hypnotic synth sounds. Nothing is lacking, nothing overdone. The percussion is as
striking as always and tightly produced. Jens Bond is a craftsman of beats and drums.

Es ist kaum zu überhören, dass Jens Bond in seiner Jugend die Drumsticks schwang: Der Stammkünstler des Berliner Labels Highgrade
überzeugt nicht nur bei seinen europaweiten Auftritten als DJ - etwa im legendären Londoner Club "the egg" oder als Resident des
Berliner "Watergate" - mit einem einmaligen Gespür für Rhythmus und Timing. Auch als Produzent knackig-grooviger Tracks kreiert
Bond regelmäßig Beats, die treffsicher auf den Punkt kommen. Der Takt sitzt dabei auch im Team: So waren etwa seine Releases, die der
ehemalige Drummer gemeinsam mit Benno Blome oder Guido Schneider veröffentlichte, Dauerbrenner in der elektronischen Clubszene.
Trotz aller wilden Zappelimpulse, die Bonds Beats auslösen, werden die Tracks doch immer auch von einer gewissen Coolness
durchzogen: eben geschüttelt, nicht gerührt. Das ist bei seiner neuesten Highgrade-EP "good woman" nicht anders. So bilden sowohl
das titelgebende "good woman" wie auch "gumble in the jungle" und "tube" geradlinige musikalische Klangteppiche, in die
sich hypnotische Synth-Sounds mischen – ohne dabei beliebig zu werden. Markant wie immer sind auch dieses Mal die fein gesetzten Percussions. Trommeln
gehört bei Jens Bond eben zum Handwerk dazu.
